The small church with the entrance in via Fazia was built by the people of San Niccolò di Ganghereto when they moved to Terranuova. Originally dedicated to the Bishop of Bari, from 1790, it ceased to be a parish church and became the seat of the Company of the Blessed Sacrament; today it is dedicated to San Donato, a martyr from Arezzo. It is thought that the construction works began already in 1337 and even today the medieval building typology is clearly visible in the wall facing in river pebbles. The church, with a single nave and a trussed ceiling, is lit by four windows with stained glass windows made in 1932 by the Quentin factory and represent saints particularly dear to the country: San Tito, Sant’Antonio da Padova, San Francesco and San Donato. The church, despite being very simple, contains some works of considerable value. On the facade, above the portal, is placed in a niche glazed terracotta of the late ‘800 – early ‘900 depicting a Madonna and Child and angels inspired by the workshops of Della Robbia, behind the high altar is placed, in a niche, a relief in polychrome terracotta representing the Madonna enthroned with the Child and Saints Nicholas of Bari and Peter ascribable to the sixteenth century. On the wall to the right, entering, was made in 1936 a Last Supper by the painter Giovanni Bassan.
